Tips To Stay Cool This Summer

Tips To Stay Cool This Summer

Summer Newsletter 2018Staying cool during the summer doesn't always mean blasting your air conditioning system at 100% all the time. There are other things you can do to keep yourself cool without having to rely solely on your air conditioner.
  1. Cool Your Fan Off - This is an easy trick. If you set up a fan with a bowl of ice in front of it, it will not only blow air your way, but the air will be chilled from the ice. When the ice melts, simply pour out the water and refill the bowl with new ice.
  2. Keep The Sun Out - Keeping the sun out of your home is an easy way to keep the temperature down. During the daytime make sure your blinds are closed. If you want some sunlight in the house, obviously these few degrees can be made up for by increasing the power on your AC system, but at least closing the blinds in the rooms you aren't occupying will help the system run easier.
  3. Stay Hydrated - It's so important to stay hydrated in the summer, and a lot of heat issues arise when people don't keep themselves hydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water and try to avoid too many dehydrating drinks like soda.
If you'd like to check out a few more ways to beat the heat this summer, we have some for you.
8 Ways To Stay Cool In The Summer

AC Unit Tips
Keep your Air Conditioner in tip top shapeStaying cool is the main goal in the summer, and your AC system is the reason your home is a comfortable place to be. You want your system to be running efficiently, and for many years. An HVAC system should last for 10+ years, so making sure it's kept in good condition is the key to having it for as long as possible. It also accounts for a solid chunk of your energy bill during the summer. If your system is working harder than it has to, then your energy bills are probably higher than they should be.

Here are a few things you should do to make sure your AC is running well, for a long time...
  1. Change Your Air Filter - Changing your air filter is simple, and also has a huge effect on the air you are breathing inside your home. The dirty air filter will block airflow, and back air up in the system. This is harmful to any HVAC system, and also makes your home less comfortable.
  2. Have A Professional Service - Having your AC System serviced by a professional once a year is important. Just like having the oil changed in your car, your AC system should be given the same treatment. Having a professional service ensures your system is running efficiently, and won't be in need of constant repairs. Making sure your system is well taken care of will almost always save you significant amounts of money in the long run.

Tankless Water Heaters - Rebates & Affordable Comfort
Energy Star Tankless Water Heaters qualify for rebates!

Running out of hot water is a constant and annoying situation in some homes. If you have a lot of people trying to get ready at the same time, or if you have a bathtub you want to fill, it can leave you with no hot water remaining in the tank. One of the coolest products we've been installing around Rochester is tankless water heaters. This is a water heater that works only when it's needed. It heats the water as it flows to where it needs to be, as opposed to a traditional tank that stores the water and constantly keeps it hot, wasting energy and having a finite amount of hot water to provide.

Because tankless water heaters are an energy efficient solution, there are often rebates available for them. Right now, for an Energy Star Certified Tankless Water Heater, there is a $200 rebate available!

So just a few of the main benefits of a tankless water heater:
  • Never run out of hot water
  • Conserve energy by eliminating a tank to store hot water
  • Save money on your energy bills
  • Create more room in your house by removing your hot water tank
