Power Surges
Power SurgesRecently there has been a rise in power surges doing damage to homes around the United States. Every year power surges cist homeowners MILLIONS in damages and broken appliances. It's not a huge deal if a power surge fries your coffee maker or blow dryer, but if it destroys something bigger such as your heating or cooling system, it can become a VERY costly problem.

Right now we are offering power surge protectors for your electrical panel, air conditioner, or furnace. Having the peace of mind knowing a power surge isn't going to destroy your equipment is well worth the investment. Your HVAC systems should last for 15+ years (as we mentioned above), so making sure it's protected is essential to make sure it lasts as long as possible!

Carbon Monoxide Safety
Carbon Monoxide Detector

One of the biggest safety concerns when it comes to heating your home is Carbon Monoxide poisoning. Carbon monoxide is an odorless, invisible gas that is a byproduct of combustion produced by your furnace, water heater, cars or other gas burning appliances. A buildup of carbon monoxide can be extremely dangerous leading to carbon monoxide poisoning which can be lethal. Ensuring your home is free of this gas is so important. There are 2 things you can do immediately to make sure your system isn't leaking any carbon monoxide.
  1. Install a carbon monoxide detector - Installing a carbon monoxide detector is just like a smoke detector. You place it by your heating system and it will alert you if there is a leak. If a leak is detected, you should immediately leave your house and call someone to come look at your system.
  2. Have a professional service your system - Having a professional come to look at your system will not only make sure it's running safely, but that it's also running efficiently. Just like a doctor visit, a trained technician can ensure your home is safe and ready for the cold weather!
If you'd like to learn a little more, check out our article about carbon monoxide and let us know if you want one of our techs to come out and have a look at your system.

Why You Need a Carbon Monoxide Detector

Put Your Air Conditioner To Bed For The Winter... The Right Way!

Keep your AC safe this winterNow that the summer has come to a close and the hot weather is pretty much over, it's time to shut your A/C off for the winter. But simply turning it off and walking away isn't exactly the right move. You should make sure your system is cleaned, and the outside unit isn't being damaged by falling leaves and debris that the cold weather brings along. This could mean adding a cover to your system, or simply making sure there isn't anything impeding your system.

Having a professional come out and take a look, as well as performing some regular maintenance will ensure your system will be safe in the
winter, and will be ready to go when the warm weather rolls back around!

If you'd like someone from Airquip to come out and help with this, we would be happy to! Give us a call at (585) 641-3080, or click on the button below to schedule a service!
