AIR PURIFIERS: WHICH ONE IS BEST FOR YOUR HOME?

Allergens, dust, and bacteria all float around the air. It's not something new or uncommon, but we can prevent ourselves from breathing it in a lot easier now. You spend the majority of your time in your home, so why wouldn't you want to breathe the cleanest and healthiest air possible? Installing an air purifier is becoming a lot more routine in homes around Rochester. Not only does an air purifier keep the air cleaner, but it also eliminates odors and dust. It's especially helpful to those more frequent health concerns, such as people with breathing problems and those who struggle with allergies.

We want to show you 3 of the air purifiers we offer that will keep the air inside your home clean and healthy!

Aprilaire Media Cleaner - $

Aprilaire Media CleanerAn Aprilaire Media Cleaner is very much like a traditional standard filter. You insert this in the ductwork of your HVAC system where it then filters allergens, dust, and other airborne pathogens before they enter your system. The Aprilaire Media Cleaner is thicker than a normal filter, and pleated to add that extra layer of filtration. These filters usually last between 6-12 months and are very easy for you to replace. You can easily remove an old filter and replace it with a new one by yourself, or have our technician replace it for you when you have annual maintenance on your HVAC system.

The benefit to these is their ease and their cost. This Media cleaner is less inexpensive than its competitors, but still comes from the reputable company of Aprilaire and does a great job. The filters for the unit cost anywhere between $50-70 dollars, but it is a once a year replacement as opposed to every 3 months with the standard 1 inch filters that
come with your furnace. If you have a forced air home where health issues aren't a huge concern, than this media cleaner would do the trick!  They provide a very adequate indoor air quality level, but not the same as the air cleaners featured next.

Reme Halo Reme Halo - $$$

Where an air filter sits in place and waits for the air to be pumped through, an air purifier like the Reme Halo actively cleans the air that is going into your home. The Reme Halo uses RGF’s patent-pending Reflective Electro Magnetic Energy Technology to clean the air of Particulates, Microbial and Gases. Most standard filters and air purifiers need the air and pollutants to pass through them in order to filter them out. This Reme Halo technology releases a hydro-peroxide plasma that circulates throughout the air, actively going after the pollutants and toxins in your home. The Reme Halo was designed to clean the air the way nature does, so the air you are breathing is the same as fresh, unpolluted mountain air. Hydro-peroxide are something that is naturally produced in our atmosphere and are a part of mother nature's air purification process as well.

  • Installs directly into the ductwork of your HVAC system
  • Kills 99% of the airborne pathogens (bacteria, mold, viruses) in the air
  • Zinc ions kill 99% of surface viruses
  • Air is purified throughout the ENTIRE home

This technology has been approved to use in military field hospitals and has even seen a 20% reduction in absenteeism in major U.S. city schools where it was installed. This technology keeps your home healthier, helps your HVAC system last longer, and greatly improves the quality of the air inside your home.

Trane Clean Air Effects - $$

Trane Clean Air EffectsSimilar to the Aprilaire Media Cleaner, the Trane Clean Air Effects is a filter you can install into your HVAC system. As the air flows through the Trane filter, up to 99.98% of the dust, bacteria and allergens are killed and taken out of the air. It has even been certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America as allergy and asthma friendly.

This filter was designed to not only take most of these airborne pathogens out of your home, but also to make sure the air flow doesn't stop when the air gets to the filter. Other filters can cause a blockage in the air, causing what is known as a pressure drop. This system was designed to have the lowest possible pressure drop, with the highest efficiency.

The Trane Clean Air Effects System can catch particles as small as .1 micron, making it 8 times more effective than the best HEPA room filters and up to 100 times more effective than a standard 1-inch filter. This means even the smallest of pathogens can be captured by the filter including everything from dust, pet hair, pollon, mites, lint, mildew, fungus, most tobacco smoke, cooking grease and bacteria. This technology has even been tested at LMS Technologies and Environmental Health & Engineering Inc., with the test results being verified by Harvard professors at the School Of Public Health.

You know you are getting a top of the line filtration system with the Trane Clean Air Effects that will keep your home a clean and happy place to be.
